SISAL SPA: come "into play" more than 60 years ago
SISAL is the company which first pioneered a modern gaming approach into the Italian market. In 1946 Sisal launched a pool game on the Italian football championship, which slip was immediately nicknamed "Sisal slip". This game was subsequently renamed "Totocalcio".
In 1948, just two years after its incorporation, Sisal launched Totip, the first and only pool game based on horse races.
In 1991 Sisal innovated the market introducing Tris, a simple tote bet on horse races into all shops belonging to the Sisal network.
In 1993, SISAL started up a state-of-the-art data processing system, fitting up all points of sale with modern on line terminals.
In 1997 Sisal awarded, the re-launch of Enalotto, an old and traditional lottery game, changing the game structure into a single matrix 6/90. SuperEnalotto soon became one of the most resounding and popular games ever.
Again in 1997 the SISAL innovation approach continued with the launch of Sisal TV, an encoded satellite TV channel, which could be watched only in the 14.000 shops of the Sisal network, broadcasting news, information and events related to the gaming world.
In 1998 the network was equipped with an innovative gaming terminal: SISAL EXTREMA, actually present in all Sisal shops, able to collect and process all data through a totally safe on line/real time system.
In 2000 SISAL launched "Formula 101", a tote-game on world championship formula 1 races.
During the year 2002 Sisal became the fourth Tris-bet- provider, extended in 2003 to motorbike races.
Starting from the football championship 2003/2004, Sisal was selected by AAMS as a provider for Totocalcio, Totogol and Big Match.
In 2005 Sisal launched four new tote-bets: Big Race Auto-Moto, Big Race Bici, Big Race Sci and Big Show.
Starting from 2005/2006 Sisal is managing besides Tris, combined bets like Vincente, Accoppiata, Quartè and Quintè.
In 2006 SuperEnalotto gives one more chance to all players with the SuperStar version.
In July the 1st 2006 has born Sisal Slot, the new reality on the "New Slot" market.
Actually SISAL is running a network with more than 19.000 shops, equipped with 20.000 on line terminals, present in 97% of the towns and villages in Italy.
The SISAL Call Centre, with more than 40 operators, is busy for 12 hours on every day of the year.
Sisal S.p.A. has also created two websites: dedicated to the players and reserved for the retailers.
In all shops belonging to the network, the recently founded Sisal Servizi Finanziari S.p.A. provides different services such as rechargeable cards, payments for public utility and local taxes to the citizens.
