THE CURRENT SITUATION


Totocalcio

The idea was created by three sporting journalists, Massimo della Pergola, Fabio Jegher and Geo Molo: The first pool game based on the Italian football Championship, nicknamed "Sisal-Slip". The first time players bet on a football game was on 5th of May 1946. In 1948 the game management was assigned to CONI (the Italian National Olympic Committee) and the game immediately became the game Italians liked most.

Starting from 1997, after a successful lifecycle the game started weakening its position and according to a disciplinary regulation, issued on November 6th 2002, the game management was assigned to the Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato. The game formular, 1X2 is still nearly the same, with one winning class added.
Starting from June 14th 2003 the Ministry of Finance published a selection of operators for the Totocalcio and Totogol management. Sisal has been selected as the main operator, followed by the operators "Lottomatica" and "Snai". Starting from August 11th 2003, Sisal started to offer the new Totocalcio game in all its shops and starting from August 17th 2003 the Totogol game too.
