Self management and employability

Sisal’s new training paradigm, devised in 2015, identifies learning environments and programmes based on the principles of self-learning and self-training, as well as on voluntary participation in professional development processes. The main objective is to invest in employability, or in other words to provide tools to refresh, renew and develop competences, and so ensure that people are employable throughout their professional life.

To ensure employability, Sisal wants to:

  • create the conditions so that every person is responsible for their own development and has the independence to be so;
  • stimulate people to be their own entrepreneurs and define their own professional and personal growth path;
  • guarantee professional career continuity in the same company and/or faster reemployment in the marketplace.

Why?

  • To increase awareness about the importance of competences for  professional development
  • To stress the need for individual responsibility and taking charge of one’s own professional development
  • To consolidate the meaning of lifelong learning
  • To strengthen the job rotation and job enrichment culture
  • To continue to support the development of competences in the female population, in order to increase the number of women in management positions
  • To involve as many people as possible in learning processes

This new paradigm applies to all Sisal’s current and future projects.
