Agreenet wins the ninth edition of GoBeyond’s Call for Ideas

The startup Agreenet has won the 2025 edition of GoBeyond’s Call for Ideas – the responsible innovation platform created by Sisal, now part of Flutter Southern Europe & Africa (SEA) – securing a €50,000 equity-free grant.

Agreenet develops advanced biomaterials to protect fresh foods and extend their shelf life—an area with high impact in terms of sustainability and waste reduction.

Now in its ninth edition, this year’s Call for Ideas recorded around 350 applications, with a significant increase in submissions from startups already operating on the market (+7% compared to last year). This confirms the program’s attractiveness for more mature business projects, strengthening GoBeyond’s role as a key reference point in supporting Italy’s innovation ecosystem.

A major novelty of this edition was the Internationalization Award powered by INNOVIT (the Italian Innovation Center in San Francisco), established in memory of Emilio Petrone, who championed the launch of GoBeyond during his tenure as Sisal’s CEO. The award was given to Fluid Wire Robotics, a startup developing robotic manipulators designed for space operations in extreme environments. The prize will support the global expansion of the winning startup, with particular focus on the U.S. market and sustainability themes.

For the second consecutive year, the GoBeyond Challenge was renewed — a strategic initiative designed to support corporate Open Innovation and serve as a concrete driver of internal innovation. The project was created to foster venture-clienting collaborations, and thanks to last year’s call, three such collaborations have already begun. The challenge was awarded to Certy, a startup that creates and develops digital and cybersecurity services for companies.

As per tradition, a special prize was also awarded to concept-only startups—entrepreneurial ventures not yet constituted and without a validated product or service—assigned in collaboration with Startup Geeks, an online incubator for developing entrepreneurial projects. The three startups granted free access to Startup Builder, Startup Geeks’ online incubation program, are Homechain, Embalhub, and Piko.

In addition to the winner, CDC Studio, Steroidomus MedTech, BathBact, Starview, and Sinergy Flow were the finalist startups that received advisory programs offered by GoBeyond’s partners, who will support their development and growth.

The award ceremony took place today at Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli in Milan and featured contributions from Jacopo Naidi, Ecosystem Lead at Innovit; Annamaria Tartaglia, Founder and CEO of TheBrandSitter and Chair of the GoBeyond jury; and Camilla Folladori, Chief Strategy Officer of Flutter SEA. The event was moderated by journalist Giampaolo Colletti.

This year as well, GoBeyond was supported by important and prestigious partners—Carter & Benson, Mamacrowd, Google, Zest, Startup Geeks, frog – Part of Capgemini Invent, SIT - Social Innovation Teams, NTT DATA, A4W (Angels for Women), SheTech, Alkemy, StartupItalia, Foundation-C, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini, INNOVIT, and Chiomenti – International Law Firm—who supported the initiative and awarded special mentions:

• Carter & Benson: Starview

• Mamacrowd: Agree NET

• SheTech: Boosted AI; Geen; Pausetiv; Moovet DXC; Sinergy Flow; CDC Studio; Biotitan Nanotechnology

• Google: Starview
