Sisal: first quarter 2022 revenues at €205.8 million, +62% compared to 2021

The Board of Directors of Sisal S.p.A. (“Sisal” or the “Company”) has approved the economic and financial data relating to the first quarter of 2022.

The Company closed the first three months of 2022 with total consolidated revenues of €205.8 million, an increase of 62% compared to €127 million reported at 31 March 2021.

The positive revenue performance was the direct result of the overall growth recorded by the Company in the Retail and Online segments: the results at 31 March 2022 reflect a strong growth in the Retail segment, which, thanks to the reopening of all stores after the Covid-19 restrictions imposed in the first quarter of last year, witnessed revenues rising from €33.1 million in the first three months of 2021 to €114.5 million in the corresponding period of 2022.

The Online segment recorded revenues of €66.1 million in the first quarter of 2022, down by only 6%, as an obvious consequence of the reopening of the retail channel.

The Company’s internationalisation process proceeded successfully in the first quarter of 2022: despite the negative impact of the Turkish Lira exchange rate, the revenues of the international segment grew to €25.1 million, +6% compared to €23.8 million in the first three months of the previous year.

In the first quarter of 2022, the Company reported consolidated EBITDA of €76.5 million, i.e. an increase of 49% compared to €51.5 million at 31 March 2021, with an EBITDA Margin of 37%.

Adjusted consolidated EBIT  almost doubled (+97%) in the first three months of 2022, reaching €50.5 million, compared to €25.7 million in the first quarter of 2021. Consolidated net profit for the period amounted to €20.3 million, i.e. a strong growth (+176%) compared to €7.3 million in the corresponding period of 2021.

The Net Financial Position (NFP)  at 31 March 2021 was equal to €104.8 million, an improvement compared to €148.2 million at 31 December 2021.

Sisal is one of the main international operators in the regulated gaming sector and currently has operations in Italy, Morocco, Spain and Turkey, with a product range that includes lotteries, betting, online games and amusement machines. The Company operates internationally in the retail channel through a network of over 47,000 stores, and on the online channel with 1.8 million consumers.
